This page will go to following my first Character build in Blender. It will be including creation, rigging and animation.

To learn how to do this I will be following online tutorials by Youtuber Darrin Lile which will be listed at the start of each section.

Creation

The turtorial I will be using for this part I will be following playlist below.

I decided to use the reference image provided by Darrin Lile

Day 1:

On the first day I got the main head shape done and I am really pleased with how its coming out.

Day 2:

Today included alot of the body done, this was eye opening on how easy it turned out to be to build the body out of the head following the reference.

I also managed to add a tongue to the mouth. I still need to smooth out some of the edges on the chest and legs. This I will be sure to add tomorrow aswell as getting some hands added into the mix.

Day 3:

Today I got busy pulling some points to make the torso look smoother.

After doing that I added some smaller details such as the gums teeth and ears and the largly needed hands.

Tomorrow I will be adding in the eyes.

Day 4:

As said I have spent today adding in eyes.

Tomorrow I am going to spend abit of time reshaping the body before I start adding the outer layer.

Day 5:

Today was mostly spent moulding the torso to look a bit less like a plank of wood.

I used a picture of human torso muscles in order to try get proportions correct. I have also started the basis of a helmet.

Day 6:

Today was finally the start of some long needed day for clothing, this was easier than I would of imagined.

Day 7:

I didnt have as much time as I hoped I would have today.

However, I did manage to get a set of trousers done and have made a start on the boots.

The Purpose of learning this skill will be to build a full endless runner level by the end of the month with all my own assets and landscapes.
